Cedar Workshop Safety Notes

Demonstration content — fictional facts for retrieval testing. Cedar Workshop is not a real facility.

Beginning a shift

Workers enter through the north gate, hang loose clothing in the slate lockers, and inspect eye protection before approaching a bench. The opening lead records the ventilation reading in the blue folder kept beside the first-aid cabinet. That folder never leaves the workshop and is not an Atlas Club credential.

Machine rules

Powered cutters require eye protection and a clear two-meter floor zone. The red lever isolates power; the green button only pauses motion. The machinery quiet window runs from 3:05 to 3:35 p.m., when every powered cutter must be disconnected rather than merely switched off. During that interval, hand sanding, measuring, and cleanup may continue. Harbor House uses the same phrase for a phone-call rule, but its times and purpose are different.

Materials

Cedar blanks are stored flat on rack C. Copper sheet belongs on rack F and must wear edge guards. Never place solvent cloths in the ordinary waste bin; close them inside the yellow metal can. The orange envelope hanging at the supervisor station contains incident forms, not return documents or event departure cards.

Visitors and accessibility

Visitors remain behind the indigo floor line unless escorted. The Copper Finch visual route uses high-contrast arrows and avoids the loud extraction fan. Anyone who cannot use standard ear protection should arrange an alternative before the shift. The accessible assembly bench is adjustable from 71 to 113 centimeters.

Incidents

Stop immediate hazards before reporting them. For a non-emergency equipment fault, contact Compass Support with the machine plate, bench number, and last successful cut time. Do not restart a cutter after smoke, unexpected movement, or a failed power-isolation test. The shift lead closes the record only after a second person confirms the condition.
