Juniper Data Retention Guide

Demonstration content — fictional facts for retrieval testing. Juniper is a fictional records policy.

Record classes

Published guidance is retained while current plus two years. Approved decision records are retained for seven years. Working notes are retained for 45 days after a matter closes. Duplicate exports should be deleted after verification rather than kept “just in case.” These periods exist only to test retrieval and do not state aSUKIra policy.

Prohibited material

Authentication secrets, full payment numbers, and unredacted identity documents must never be placed in the Juniper archive. Redaction must happen before upload. A file that cannot be safely redacted belongs in its approved system of record, with Juniper holding only a descriptive reference.

Blue folder procedure

The physical blue folder is a transfer container for approved paper records. It must be logged out and returned before the daily quiet window at 5:10 p.m. The folder should never contain an Atlas membership credential, even though both objects share the same color phrase. Orange envelopes may carry destruction certificates, but they must not contain the records being destroyed.

Legal holds and corrections

A valid hold suspends scheduled deletion for the named material only. It does not authorize broader collection. Corrections preserve the original record, the corrected version, the reason, and the approving steward. If a hold notice is ambiguous, Compass Support routes it to a human records owner rather than guessing.

Relationship to other pages

Meridian draft applications follow Juniper’s expired-draft rule after their cycle closes. Ember Archive’s product matrix is published reference material and uses the current-plus-two-years class. Search results should distinguish retention instructions from product compatibility statements and should always cite the passage that actually answers the question.
